The Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) project provides students with a wide range of international learning experience and opportunities through semester-based courses that allow students to learn online and collaborate in cross-cultural projects outside of class.
In order to encourage faculty members to explore the implementation of international projects based on semester courses, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Graduate School, and the Center for Teaching and Learning Development of Shanghai Jiao Tong University jointly established the "International Cooperation and Learning (COIL)" project (hereinafter referred to as the "Project") in 2023.
Purpose of the project
By linking teachers and students of an overseas course, extracurricular online international cooperative learning activities are introduced into the semester course to enrich students' international communication experience, promote the development of students' comprehensive abilities such as thinking and expression, and improve the teaching effect.
