Introduction
Dr. Dragon Zuo is a Professor of Civil Engineering at Texas Tech University, USA and the Technical Director of Wind Engineering of the National Wind Institute at the same institution. He is a current member of the Board of Directors of the American Association for Wind Engineering. In addition, he has been serving as the Director of the Texas Tech University site of the Industry-University Cooperative Research Center for Wind Hazard and Infrastructure Performance, which is supported by the National Science Foundation of the United States. Dr. Zuo joined Texas Tech University in 2006 after obtaining his Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins University and a short stay at Johns Hopkins as a postdoctoral research fellow. His research interests include wind loading on structures, wind-induced vibration, and vibration control. In recent years, he has focused his research effort on tornado-loading on structures and the resilience of buildings to tornado hazard. Dr. Zuo has worked on many research projects sponsored by national and state agencies of the United States as well as the private industry. The findings from these projects have been reported in more than 70 papers published in archival journals and international conferences.
