John Low
Professor, Namibia University of Science and Technology
Introduction
Low focuses on the industrial R&D priorities in battery manufacture, testing and recycling. Research interests in lithium-ion devices, flow cells and supercapacitors. He considers activities that integrate electrochemistry with chemical engineering, de-risks innovation, and enables its productivity, growth and sustainability of electrochemical technologies that meets industrialisation targets. Successful programmes with funding from Advanced Propulsion Centre, Innovate UK Faraday, the Government’s Industrial Strategy, Engineering Physical Science Research Council and commercial contracts with industry. His professional esteem: Warwick’s leadership on Future Materials (University’s Global Research Priority Programmes), Vice Chairman Science Committee of Institute of Materials Finishing (IMF), Fellow of IMF and EPSRC member of Manufacturing-the-Future. His work is recognised by research publications and awards: WMG Researcher of the Year (2017), Westinghouse Prize (2011, 2009), Jim Kape Medal (2010) and IChemE Prize (2003).
