129 Years of Cultivating Talents, Bridging the World with Shared Glory.On April 6th, guided by the International Student Service Center of the Student Affairs Committee, international students from 26 countries participated in the "Jiaoda Ren Festival" at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, showcasing and exchanging global cultures.
During the event, students dressed in traditional attire presented their countries’ folk art, cuisine, and customs, attracting numerous faculty and students who stopped to admire and interact. The vibrant cultural displays not only allowed the audience to experience the unique charm of diverse traditions but also promoted deeper cultural exchange and integration between China and the world. Students from Morocco, Mali, South Africa, Indonesia, Sweden, Australia, and other nations expressed their love for and respect for SJTU in fluent Chinese.
Binna Ampornsiri, Consul General of Thailand in Shanghai, and Zhao Xin, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, visited the international student booths, engaging in warm conversations with the students and highly praising their meticulously prepared cultural exhibitions. Binna Ampornsiri noted that the long-standing friendly relations between Thailand and China make the study and life of Thai students at SJTU not only a personal journey of growth but also a vital bridge for bilateral cultural exchange. Zhao Xin encouraged the international students to continue serving as messengers of cultural exchange, contributing more to mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
As cultures from different countries collided and converged on campus, faculty and students broadened their global perspectives, deepened their understanding of cultural diversity, and fostered an open and harmonious campus atmosphere. In the future, SJTU will remain committed to its inclusive ethos, bringing together talents from around the world to write new chapters of glory hand in hand.
