On the afternoon of April 23, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) Party Secretary Yang Zhenbin met with a delegation from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), including President Attila Brungs and Vice President Colin Grant, at the Minhang Campus. SJTU Vice President Liu Weidong accompanied the meeting.
Yang Zhenbin warmly welcomed Attila Brungs and his delegation, providing a brief introduction to the university’s development strategy and discipline construction. Yang emphasized that in response to changing international dynamics and advances in science and technology, SJTU continually researches the direction of academic development and implements reforms and innovations to meet the demands of economic and social development. He highlighted that UNSW is a significant strategic partner for SJTU and expressed his hope for continued and strengthened collaboration between the two institutions to build a better future together.
Attila Brungs acknowledged SJTU as UNSW’s most important partner in China, expressing his desire to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of energy, engineering, and psychology, building on the solid foundation of their existing partnership.
Witnessed by Attila Brungs and Yang Zhenbin, Colin Grant and Liu Weidong signed the renewal of the seed fund cooperation agreement between the two universities. Initially signed in 2015, the seed fund cooperation agreement has successfully funded 47 projects across multiple disciplines to date.
After the meeting, the delegation toured the Zero Bay Innovation and Entrepreneurship Zone.
Representatives from SJTU’s International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Zero Bay Special Office, Michigan College, and the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics participated in the event.
