On December 9, 2023, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) commemorated its 30-year presence in Singapore with the grand celebration of its anniversary and the third Antai Asia-Pacific Forum. The prestigious event, held in Singapore, was hosted by SJTU Asia-Pacific Graduate Institute (SJTU-APGI) and Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), and organized by the Antai Asia-Pacific Center. Distinguished attendees included Han Jun, Minister Counsellor (Education) of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Singapore; Wu Jiong, SJTU Board Member, Honorary Director of SJTU-APGI, and Founding Partner of FengHe Investment Management Company; Cheng Jun, President of Bank of China Singapore Branch; Xi Lifeng, Vice President of SJTU; Wang Guangyan, Director of Finance and Planning Department; Chen Fangruo, Dean of ACEM; Peng Yinghong, Dean of SJTU-APGI; Pan Yingli, Finance Department Professor at ACEM; along with other eminent leaders, social figures, and representatives from the faculty, student body, and alumni network. This gathering was not only a moment to reflect on the 30-year journey of educational endeavor in Singapore but also to unveil the new site of the SJTU Antai Asia-Pacific Center and deliberate on future prospects.
The launch of the new SJTU Antai Asia-Pacific Center site, located in Singapore's "Silicon Valley" - One North, symbolizes ACEM's commitment to a more expansive and structured operation in Singapore.
The event also witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between Antai College of Economics and Management and the China Enterprises Association (Singapore), accompanied by an industry tutor certification ceremony.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University introduced its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Singapore in 1993 under the auspices of ACEM. Since the inauguration of the Antai Asia-Pacific Center in 2019, it has become a vital hub for Antai's internationalization efforts in Southeast Asia. The Center actively contributes to the development of ASEAN MBA programs, providing a dynamic platform for learning and exchange among ASEAN corporate executives. Its commitment to nurturing globally minded leaders enhances the exchange and collaborative endeavors between China and Singapore, bringing fresh impetus to these bilateral relations.
