SJTU Leaders Meet with President Mikhail Pogosyan and Delegation from Moscow Aviation Institute
On April 4th, President Ding Kuiling, former President Lin Zhongqin, and Vice President Xu Xuemin of Shanghai Jiao Tong University separately met with the visiting delegation led by Mikhail Pogosyan, President of the Moscow Aviation Institute, at the Minhang Campus. The discussions focused on further strengthening and deepening the existing cooperation. Roman Klinovisky, Director of the High-End Projects Department, and Dmitry Strelets, Director of the Research and Development Department, accompanied the delegation from the Moscow Aviation Institute.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the fruitful results achieved over the past seven years in education, scientific research, and academic cooperation and exchanges. They conducted in-depth discussions on advancing the optimization of dual-degree education programs and reached a consensus.
During the visit, Mikhail Pogosyan also visited the Russian students participating in the joint training program at the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He inquired about their studies and living conditions, encouraging them to study hard and strive to become future industry elites in the field of aerospace engineering for both China and Russia.
During the symposium, in-depth discussions took place between the relevant departments of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, including the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Academic Affairs Office, the Graduate School, and the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the corresponding departments of the Moscow Aviation Institute.
Given the context of the Belt and Road Initiative and the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Moscow Aviation Institute have established extensive educational consensus and cooperation intentions. They have implemented undergraduate dual-degree programs and master's dual-degree programs. Since 2017, the total number of students enrolled in these programs has surpassed 420.
