SJTU Establishes Carbon Neutral Innovation Center
Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) recently held a conference on carbon-neutral industry innovation and development. On the scene, SJTU established the Carbon Neutral Innovation Center under the College of Smart Energy. The establishment of this center is in response to the global issue of climate change, where a low-carbon future has become a shared expectation worldwide.
Over 100 experts and scholars in relevant fields were invited to the assembly, where they focused on carbon peak and neutrality. The conference theme was “Carbon Peak, Neutrality-Transformation and Upgrade”. The discussions centered on industrial opportunities and future development under carbon peak, neutrality, and industrial transformation.
At the opening ceremony of the Carbon Neutral Innovation Center, Liu Muqun, Director of the center, received the certificate of appointment as Director.
The Carbon Neutral Innovation Center emerged under the requirements and leadership of China. Under the strategic guidance of the Ocean Plan, Health For All Plan, and NeoBay of SJTU, it will explore a paradigm of industry-finance cooperation with Chinese characteristics, helping the low-carbon economy and empowering industrial upgrading. The Carbon Neutral Innovation Center’s primary focus is to build a NETWORK ecosystem with warmth, action, and development, together with all circles under the carbon-neutral strategy.
The Carbon Neutral Innovation Center will also fully coordinate university advantages and contribute to low-carbon technology, finance, and social services. It will prioritize industrial convergence and resource integration, using modalities such as summit forums, closed meetings, industrial research, project docking, and capital guidance, and promote the development of members to provide enterprises with feasible and innovative development solutions for carbon-neutral transformation and upgrading.
