Graduation ceremonies for the 2023 graduate and undergraduate students were held
On March 25th, the 2023 Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferral Ceremony for postgraduate students of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held at the Fok Ying Tung Sports Center on the Minhang campus. Over 3,100 graduates from the class of 2023 received their degrees, marking the completion of their final lesson at SJTU and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
President and Chinese Academy of Sciences Academician Ding Kuiling, under the theme "Embrace Initiative, Create the Future," delivered a joint message with Secretary Yang Zhenbin to the graduating students. He expressed that the learning, research, and anti-pandemic experiences at Shanghai Jiao Tong University have enriched the students' life experiences through challenges and inspirations. They have come to understand the responsibilities and commitments of being a member of SJTU. President Ding hopes that everyone will actively embrace changes, adapt to them, and become creators and promoters of history.
On the morning of June 21st, the 2023 graduation ceremony and Degree Conferral Ceremony for undergraduate students of Shanghai Jiao Tong University were held at the Fok Ying Tung Sports Center in the Minhang Campus. Secretary of the University Party Committee, Yang Zhenbin, announced the decision to confer bachelor's degrees, marking the beginning of a new journey for over 3,000 SJTU graduates as they embark on their future endeavors. President and Chinese Academy of Sciences Academician Ding Kuiling delivered a heartfelt message to the graduates, encouraging them to move forward through perseverance and breakthroughs.
"In your journey of climbing, you will also face numerous choices in life. It is important to broaden your perspective, embrace tolerance, and evaluate the present gains and losses and current issues from a broader time frame. Maintain an open mind and be skilled in teamwork and collaboration in your interactions with others. Embrace the world and aspire to be someone with lofty ideals, integrating your personal life into the great cause of national development. Breathe the same air and share the same destiny with our country and its people." Ding Kuiling encouraged the students to contribute their youthful energy to the development of the nation and its people.
The ceremony was attended by the university's leaders, representatives of faculty members, alumni, representatives from various schools and departments, as well as friends and family members of the graduating students. Together, they bid farewell to the undergraduate Class of 2023.
