On June 22nd, the 2022 graduation ceremony of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) was held at the Fok Ying Tung Sports Center as the main venue as well as the Wenzhi Auditorium and the Jing-Jing Auditorium as the parallel venues. The Class of 2022 witnessed such an unforgettable moment via the live event. More than 15,000 students bade farewell to their alma mater as they went into a new chapter in their life.

Almost everything went online due to the pandemic, such as the thesis defenses, job interviews and the gala, leaving graduates with unforgettable experiences. To round off their college life and make them less regretful in their later life, SJTU went to great lengths to present to the graduates and their family a fantastic graduation ceremony in both online and on-site ways that was live broadcast on the China Central Television channel, the SJTU channel on Bilibili, Kuaishou, TikTok, WeChat, and ClassIn.

Over 400,000 students have graduated from SJTU over the past 126 years. And this year, more than 10,000 students graduated and will be dedicated to different industries and different parts of the world. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the graduation ceremony for undergraduates and for postgraduates were combined . 3,256 undergraduates, 8,838 master students and 2,943 doctoral students were awarded degrees.
