8 SJTU Projects Granted National Science and Technology Award 2020

On November 3rd, the 2020 National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Shanghai Jiao Tong University alumni Gu Shufen was awarded the 2020 National Supreme Science and Technology Award. Gu is the fifth person from SJTU to receive this honor, after Wu Wenjun, Xu Guangxian, Wang Zhenyi and Huang Xuhua.

 

Shanghai Jiao Tong University has a total of 8 first-completed unit results were recognized, of which there are 1 first prize and 7 second prizes.

 

Morph-genetic materials with fine configuration of natural organisms

Completed by Prof. Zhang Di’s team from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, the project won the second prize at the State Natural Science Awards.

 

Design and property research of chiral metal-organic porous solids

Completed by Prof. Cui Yong’s research team from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the project won the second prize at the State Natural Science Awards.

 

Discovery of reproductive stem cells in adult female mammalian and its regulation mechanism in development

Completed by Prof. Wu Ji’s research team from Bio-X Research Institutes, School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, the project won the second prize at the State Natural Science Awards.

 

Mechanisms and precision prevention and control of developmental disorders and genetic birth defects

This project was completed by the team led by Huang Hefeng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and doctor of the International Peace Maternal and Child Health Institute affiliated with SJTU School of Medicine. It was honored the second prize at the Scientific and Technological Progress Awards.

 

New theory of prostate trauma repair and precise surgical intervention system

Completed by Prof. Xia Shujie’s team of the First People’s Hospital affiliated to SJTU, this project won the second prize at the National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards.

 

Establishment and clinical application of key treatment techniques for post-traumatic elbow joint dysfunction

Completed by Prof. Fan Cunyi’s research team from the Sixth People’s Hospital affiliated to SJTU, this project won the second prize at the National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards.

 

Innovation and application of temporomandibular joint surgery

Completed by Prof. Yang Chi’s team from the Ninth People’s Hospital affiliated to SJTU, the project won the second prize at the National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards.
