In 2003, the SJTU-KEDGE Global MBA Program was offered by the Antai College of Economics and Management at SJTU in partnership with KEDGE business School, one of the top-notch French business schools founded in 1872. Graduates will receive an Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from KEDGE Business School. Each year, 50 students are enrolled in the program.
It comprises a range of practical projects aimed at broadening students' global vision, and helping them apply their knowledge to practice. They will contribute the wisdom of SJTU people to social issues through field research and exploration.
SJTU encourages faculties to share high-quality teaching resources and enables students from different countries to exchange ideas and get inspired by one another in the global virtual classroom.

The 15th International Conference on Intelligent Robotics and Applications (ICIRA 2022) was held in Harbin from August 1 to 3. Master’s student Mr. Hao Xu from the Institute of Design and Control Engineering for Heavy Equipment at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, who was guided by Professor Weizhong Guo, gave a presentation on his research paper entitled“Design and Analysis of a Novel Magnetic Adhesion Robot with Passive Suspension”, which helped him win the Best Student Paper Award.

The inaugural SDG July Camp hosted by SJTU officially closed on July 16th, 2022, at 2 pm Beijing time. Around 150 participants attended the online closing ceremony, including instructors and students from 35 partner universities in 22 countries from across five continents.

A scientific innovation team led by three undergraduate students from the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI, JI hereafter) was awarded the first prize in the recently concluded 2022 China-U.S. Young Maker Competition Shanghai Division for their project “Degage White: A Brushless Tooth Flusher”. The team also qualified for the global grand final of the competition set to be held next month.

On the morning of August 17th, Her Excellency Sun Haiyan, the new Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, visited the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Asia-Pacific Graduate Institute (SJTU-APGI). She was accompanied by the Counsellor of Education Department Kang Kai and the secretary Zhai Yinglin. Lim Khiang Wee, Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Singapore (Prime Minister's Office); Peng Yinghong, Dean and Professor of SJTU-APGI; Meng Jia, Vice Dean; Xi Junfang, Director of the Antai Center; Tong Yen Wah, Head of the National University of Singapore; and He Yiliang, Professor of SJTU, also attended the meeting.

On August 24, 2022, the Chinese embassy in France held a reception to promote Sino-French cooperation in education, present the development of Chinese education, and introduce the new visa policy for French students in China. Present at the event were the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and universities in France, international students who have recently studied in China, and students of the Confucius Institute.

On August 29th, the ceremony for signing an agreement for the creation of the new journal Med-X and its kick-off was held remotely. It was attended by over 100 participants, such as Global Vice President of Springer Nature Arnout Jacobs, President of Springer Nature for Greater China Li Xian, Editor-in-Chief of Med-X, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and Vice President of SJTU Xu Xuemin, Co-Editor-in-Chief of Med-X and Director of the Department of Bioengineering of the University of California, Los Angeles Li Song, advisor and editorial board member of Med-X and academician of the University of Sydney Professor Feng Dagan, academician of Tsinghua University Cheng Jing, academician of Southeast University Gu Ning, leaders of the SJTU School of Biomedical Engineering, young editorial board members of Med-X, and experts and scholars specializing in biomedical engineering. The ceremony was facilitated by the Director of the SJTU Journal Center Tan Yi.

The business magazine Fortune (Chinese version) recently released the latest 40 Chinese Business Elites under-40 (Fortune 40 Under 40), one of whom is Sui Shaolong, an undergraduate alumnus of the Class of 2011 of the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU Joint Institute) in mechanical engineering.

Fortune China Magazine recently released a list of 84 most socially influential startups in China in 2022, covering a wide range of areas, such as intelligent manufacturing and services, medicine and medical device R&D and commercial services, and aerospace technology. One of the startups is Mega Phase Technology (which includes Shanghai Shengxiang Industrial Testing Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Shengwei Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.), jointly founded by four alumni of the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute, i.e., Wu Di (Class of 2011, B.S. in Mechanical Engineering), Huang Xian (Class of 2011, B.S. in Mechanical Engineering), Huang Zheng (Class of 2011, B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Class of 2014, M.S. in Electronic Science and Technology), and Gu Jinwei (Class of 2011, B.S. in Mechanical Engineering).
