State Energy Smart Grid R&D Center (Shanghai)

SSGC, as the first national smart grid research center, was approved by National Energy Administration in November 2009. It is jointly invested by The National Energy Administration, the Ministry of Education, the Shanghai Government and State Grid Corporation of China, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It is one of the first sixteen research and experiment bases of energy industry approved by the National Energy Administration. There are nine departments in SSGC, including Institute of Renewable Energy Integration, Institute of Smart Transmission & Transformation, Institute of Smart Distribution & Utilization, Institute of Power System Planning, Institute of Power System Operation, ISGAN China Liaison Office, Academic Committee, University-Enterprise Joint Research Center, and Materials Management Center. The research of SSGC covers all aspects of the smart grid and related fields.
