Science Education Base for GMO – SJTU Selected Among the First Batch of Recognized Lists of National Popular Science Education Bases (2021-2025)

Recently, the General Office of the China Association for Science and Technology released a public announcement on the first batch of recognized lists of national popular science education bases from 2021 to 2025. After the review, 800 units including the "Science Education Base for GMO, SJTU" of the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology were selected to be a recognized national science education base from 2021 to 2025.

 

 

Science Education Base for GMO, SJTU (Base), which is affiliated to the basic science education base of the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, focuses on transgenic technology. It is deeply involved with the community and schools by carrying out various forms of popular science publicity work. The base was built in 2009 and officially opened to the public in 2012. Covering an area of about 10,000 square meters, the base is a modern and immersive experience-based science education base integrating science, scientific research and innovation. The base was awarded the titles of National Popular Science Base (2015-2019), The Central Committee of the Communist Young League Popular Science Base (Ministry of Agriculture),  National Youth Agricultural Popular Science Base, Shanghai Popular Science Base, District of Minhang Popular Science Base, and District of Minhang Youth Research and Learning Center.
