As a joint-venture (not an independent legal entity) established in Shanghai on November 8, 1994, China-Europe International Business School (CEIBS) was co-founded by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and the European Commission in accordance with an agreement signed between the Chinese government and the European Union (EU). With SJTU and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) as its executive partners, CEIBS has been among the leading business schools across Asia and beyond. Acclaimed by both Chinese and European leaders as a cradle of present and future executives and a fine exampleof EU-China cooperation, CEIBS stays committed to establishing itself as a premier business school with far-reaching international influence by growing socially responsible business leaders of strong local commitment and global outlook.
Authorized by the Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, CEIBS is allowed to offer a full suite of degree programs, including MBA, EMBA and a wide range of executive education programs that meet mounting demand for more effective business management. CEIBS is allowed to enroll up to 2000 students, authorized by China’s Ministry of Education, which are made possible by our 70-strong standing prefessors from home and abroad.
CEIBS leads business schools in Asia and beyond. It ranked among the top five business schools worldwide for the first time according to the FT’s 2018 rankings of global MBA and EMBA programs. In 2019, CEIBS was ranked 5th globally on the FT’s list of the best providers of EMBA programs, with its independent EMBA program ranked first in the world. In 2020, it ranked 5th globally and #1 in Asia according to the FT’s list. It was accredited by two world’s leading accreditations:the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) in 2004 and by the US Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2008and earned 5-year renewal of its accreditation from EQUIS and AACSB, which ensures sustained high quality of teaching at CEIBS.
