SJTUers Won 3 Golds in 2021 World Table Tennis Championships

In the 2021 World Table Tennis Championships concluded on November 30 in Houston, two Chinese players, Wang Manyu and Sun Yingsha, won three championships in women's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. Wang Manyu championed the women's singles and women's doubles. Sun Yingsha championed the women's doubles and mixed doubles. Both of them are junior undergraduates of Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

In the spectacular battle of the women's singles final, Wang Manyu outclassed Sun Yingsha by 4-2 and took the championship. This is the 14th consecutive time that China has won the gold medal of women's singles since the 1995 World Table Tennis Championships held in Tianjin. And Wang's victory brought for China the 24th gold medal in women's singles in World Table Tennis Championships.

In the women's doubles final, Wang and Sun beat Japanese pair Hina Hayata and Mima Ito with a 3-0 victory, defending China's 17 consecutive championships in this event.

In the mixed doubles final, Chinese duo Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin outplayed their Japanese opponents Tomokazu Harimoto and Hina Hayata by 3-0, winning the first gold for China at this year's Championships.
