From October 13 to 15, the China International College Student Innovation Competition (2024) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Achievements Exhibition was held at the Ho Ying Tung Sports Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Shanghai Municipal Party Secretary Chen Jining, Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng, and Shanghai Municipal Party Deputy Secretary and Mayor Gong Zheng visited the University Student Innovation Achievement Exhibition. They inspected innovation and entrepreneurship projects in the exhibition areas themed “Reaching for the Sky,” “Rooted on the Ground,” and “Innovating Toward the Future,” gaining insights into how young students align with national strategies and respond to urgent national needs. They explored innovations in artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and new energy, as well as practical applications that serve agriculture and rural areas, industrial applications, regional development, and emergency rescue. The exhibition is themed “Reaching for the Sky, Rooted on the Ground, and Innovating Toward the Future,” showcasing the stories of ambitious youth who harbor feelings for their country, reflecting the effectiveness of the competition in promoting education, learning, and innovation.

The exhibition is divided into three sections: “Reaching for the Sky,” “Rooted on the Ground,” and “Innovating Toward the Future.” It features 28 participating projects covering key higher education tracks, the “Red Travel” track, vocational education track, industry proposal track, budding track, and outstanding international projects.

The “Reaching for the Sky” (Strategic Field) section mainly displays innovative projects in aerospace, information technology, new materials, and high-end equipment, showcasing contemporary students’ exploration and practice in promoting industrial structure upgrades and facilitating high-quality development. The “Rooted on the Ground” section exhibits typical projects from the “Red Travel,” industry, and vocational education tracks, highlighting how young students serve agriculture, industry applications, and regional economic development by rooting themselves in the land of China. The “Innovating Toward the Future” section focuses on projects from middle school students and international participants, telling stories of youth growth and experiences in the competition, as well as cross-cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign youth.

This innovation achievement exhibition is designed to showcase innovative technology, integrate local culture, and broaden international perspectives, aiming to create an international event involving participation from a hundred countries, thousands of schools, and millions of students. Additionally, the exhibition aims to guide young students to uphold the spirit of independent innovation, overcome challenges, and dare to break through, continually exploring new fields and tracks, shaping new driving forces and advantages for development, and writing a new chapter for China's scientific and technological endeavors.
