Shanghai Jiao Tong University hosted a meeting for North American colleges and universities in China to exchange ideas

Recently, the heads of the Chinese offices of 11 North American colleges and universities from Boston University, University of Toronto, The Ohio State University, Harvard University, University of Rochester, University of Minnesota, University of Southern California, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, and Georgia Institute of Technology in Shenzhen, China, visited Shanghai Jiaotong University, attending the Office Exchange Meeting of the North American Colleges and Universities in China. Liu Weidong welcomed the delegation. He mentioned that SJTU, adhering to the nine-word policy of ‘Comprehensive, Innovative and International’ and always adhering to the strategy of internationalisation, is looking forward to deepening the ties with the universities and exploring new paradigms of co-operation to help bilateral development and achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.

Zhao Xin, Director of the China Office of the University of Toronto, Liu Fangyuan, Director of the China Office of the University of Minnesota, and Zhang Lina, Senior Programme Specialist of the University of Rochester, shared the basic information and international cooperation strategies of their respective universities.

Chen Ke, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchanges, shared the recent development of Jiao Tong University and the key work of international exchanges.

Xi Wang, Director of the Internationalisation Office of the Graduate School, shared graduate programmes and application pathways for global students.

Ma Wei, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and Director of the International Student Development Centre, shared the work related to student exchanges and exchanges, summer projects and research internships in the university.

Guests from various schools visited the university's Institute of Translational Medicine building, the Electron Microscopy-Imaging Centre, and the Spectroscopy-Wave Spectrometry-Mass Spectrometry platform.

The delegation came to Michigan College of Jiao Tong University, where Chen Qianbin, President of Michigan College, introduced the overall situation of the college to the guests and led the delegation to visit the Tang Junyuan Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre and the exhibition of ‘Light Chasers in the New Era’.

 

The exchange meeting demonstrated the school's attitude of openness and cooperation to North American colleges and universities, and also showed the school's discipline level, experimental facilities, campus environment and other hardware and software conditions. The exchange meeting played a good platform effect, promoting the interaction between the school and North American colleges and universities, as well as promoting exchanges between North American colleges and universities.
