Project Description and Objectives:

Acute stress-induced relapse has been widely verified in clinical studies and animal experiments, but the effect of acute stress on reinstatement behavior after natural reward (sucrose solution) withdrawal remain unclear and its mechanism remains to be investigated. In our previous result, we found that acute stress may affect the sucrose reinstatement. In this project, we will conduct sucrose self-administration (SA) to establish a sucrose-seeking model in mice. We will focus on the differences between the two groups that received acute stress or not before the reinstatement test and also search for regions that respond to this acute stress and thus have an impact on the reinstatement of sucrose SA.
