The university leaders meet with the delegation from the University of Bristol, led by President Evelyn Welch

On November 6, 2024, Yang Zhenbin, Party Secretary of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, met with the delegation from the University of Bristol, led by President Evelyn Welch, at the Xuhui campus. Both sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on the development vision, internationalization strategy, and future cooperation between the two universities.

Yang Zhenbin stated that the two universities have a solid foundation for cooperation, particularly in the fields of humanities and social sciences and at the level of relevant schools. He expressed the hope to further strengthen mutual understanding and communication with the University of Bristol, deepen cooperation in more areas, and expand the depth and breadth of cooperation through diversified forms of collaboration.

Evelyn Welch introduced the recent developments at the University of Bristol and expressed the hope that the two universities could deepen collaboration in research and teaching, as well as promote academic exchanges between students and faculty from both sides.

Both parties agreed to upgrade the existing school-level cooperation to a university-wide level, and to sign a series of documents, including a university-level student exchange agreement, to advance their cooperation.

After the seminar, the delegation from the University of Bristol also held discussions with the School of Humanities, the School of Foreign Languages, and the Antai College of Economics and Management.

Officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and relevant schools participated in the event.

The University of Bristol, located in the southwest of England, was founded in 1876 and is a member of the Russell Group, ranking among the top ten universities in the UK.
