The university leaders met with guests from the University of Surrey

On the morning of June 17, a delegation from the University of Surrey, led by President Max Lu, visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Yang Zhenbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of SJTU, met with the guests and held discussions at the Minhang campus. Patrick Degg, Vice President for External Relations, and Yu Xiong, Associate Vice President for International Engagement from the University of Surrey, along with officials from relevant departments of SJTU, participated in the event.

Yang Zhenbin extended a warm welcome to Max Lu and his delegation, providing an overview of the development trends at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He expressed hope that the two universities would further strengthen their collaboration in scientific research and joint student training based on their existing partnership, and welcomed more faculty and students from the University of Surrey to visit SJTU for exchanges.

 

Max Lu emphasized that the University of Surrey highly values its cooperation with Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He expressed the desire to promote deeper collaboration between the two institutions across multiple disciplines, working together to make greater contributions to sustainable societal development and human health.

After the meeting, representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the Institute of Psychology and Behavioral Science, the AI Institute, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and the Collaborative Innovation Center for Future Media Networks participated in discussions.

 

The delegation also visited the Collaborative Innovation Center for Future Media Networks at SJTU.

 

The University of Surrey is a public comprehensive research university in the United Kingdom, founded in 1891. Its predecessor was the Battersea Polytechnic Institute.
