Course Description

Through the course on “Global Governance, Conflict and China” students will gain a fresh perspective on the increasing role of China in global and regional governance institutions whose mandates are to regulate and limit violence before, during and after conflict.

In this respect, it will examine how – in light of its relational governance – China is interpreting, applying and shaping those international laws – that govern the use of force, peacekeeping, disarmament and the proliferation of small arms and weapons of mass destruction, individual accountability for violations of those norms – in a such way that secures and restores their normativity on the long-term.
