Shanghai Institute of Hematology

The Lab actively promotes the interactions between science, engineering and medicine to translate the latest scientific achievements of genomics into the medical practice. Through  building up the innovation platform of medical science (including Disease Genomics Anatomy Project, Integrative Chemical Genomics Project, epigenetics, proteomics and structural biology), the Lab mainly studies the malignant cancers, e.g. leukemia and other major human diseases included genetic diseases. We focus on localizing and identifying disease-related genes and the characterization of the regulatory pathways and network of their protein products, with a goal to develop molecular mechanism-based new approaches for disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Carrying out of key scientific research projects, the Lab aims to publish high-quality original research and provide gene or protein sequencing for national and international gene or protein data banks; also to develop new technologies and methods with the potential for application and apply for patents. As a public research institute, we also dedicate ourselves to educate young researchers and build the future task force for medical genomic research in China.
