Smart city laboratory is one of the key laboratories by new Design School of Shanghai Jiao Tong university. The lab is located in neoBay-Global Innovation Community, Minhang district of Shanghai (west to the Minhang campus of SJTU). It is given priority to 3-5 teachers of Architecture department. Five research mentors and ten graduate students take root in here. In line with the aim of people-oriented, around the direction of "Smart city", the lab is exploring how to build "smart city" that have the characteristics of elaborating management, data visualization and the public participation though the city planning, design and related technology.
