SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology

As part of its commitments to one of the major national reform initiatives, the Plan of Educating and Developing Excellent Future Engineers proposed in the Outline of China’s National Plan for Medium and Long-term Education Reform and Development (2010-2020), SJTU set up SJTU-ParisTech Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT) in collaboration with Paris Institute of Technology in 2012 to produce industry leaders of future. Featuring a progressive combination of academic strengths of SJTU and a strong, well-respected faculty at PairsTech, SPEIT aims to establish itself as a world-class engineering school where grows high-skilled talents and business leaders with global exposure. It now welcomes 1,000 students and offers 6-year and 6.5-year programs covering  four majors: Mechanical Engineering, Information Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, and French Language.

Through close cooperation, SPEIT strives to meet the highest standards of French engineering education while placing utmost value on delivering well-regarded quality programs.  In 2016, it won the “Excellent China-French Joint Program Award” by the Chinese and French governments. SPEIT offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from SJTU, and the Master’s degree is recognized as an an official French engineering degree by the French Commission of Engineering Titles (Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI)).. SPEIT went even further by receiving CTI Accreditation on the maximum term of 6 years and  EUR-ACE Accrediatation in 2018. All these achievements speak volumes for how well-regarded the quality of its programs is. In 2019, its training model featuring an in-depth integration of industries, academia and research  earned it a major award “China-French Industrial Pilot Project (education)” by the Chinese and French government.

Looking ahead, SPEIT will strive to be on par with the highest global level and remain dedicated to leading China’s engineering education reform by developing new ways to grow innovative talents and to setting up a new model of how premier international joint programs should be developed.
