20 hours per week. Lessons are taught at 6 levels depending on the level of the student.
*Special Class
Program for Chinese Heritage Learners (Huayiban)
Target students:
The program is for students with Chinese background who can communicate in Chinese (Mandarin or Chinese dialects) in daily life but have very limited ability in reading and writing Chinese characters (knowing less than 200 Chinese characters).
Advanced Culture and Business Class
Target students: advanced students
Elective courses
HSK Tutoring，Tai Chi, Chinese Calligraph，etc
Cultural Activities & language practice
Visits to historic cultural sites in and around Shanghai
Admission and registration
The university will issue an Admission Notice（Electronic version sent by email） and Visa Application for Study in China (download by students themselves) to those who are admitted. Students should bring their passport, Admission Notice，Visa Application for Study in China and other required documents to the Embassy or Consulate of the People’s Republic of China to apply for a student Visa (X1 or X2).Students shall come to Shanghai Jiao Tong University on the registration date indicated on the Admission Notice.
*Students already study at school DO NOT need to do the online application again to attend the next semester, please see the follow-up notice to finish the extension procedures.
