On November 5, 2025, Liu Weidong, Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), met with Professor Måns Svensson, President of Jönköping University, Sweden, and his delegation at the Minhang Campus.

Vice President Liu extended a warm welcome to President Svensson and his delegation. In his remarks, he reviewed the previous collaborations between the two universities in the field of metal casting research. He noted that the two institutions share a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation, expressing his hope that both sides would continue to inspire each other, establish closer ties, and carry out in-depth collaboration in areas such as scientific research and talent cultivation to jointly explore new paths for partnership.
President Måns Svensson introduced the recent developments of Jönköping University and expressed his hope that this visit would provide an opportunity for both sides to explore ways to further deepen their cooperation. He emphasized the potential for expanded collaboration in fields such as manufacturing technology, management and business, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Materials Science and Engineering, where both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on potential directions and pathways for future disciplinary collaboration.
